If you live in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, you'll be able to see the launch of a sounding rocket from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility today (October 7) at 7 pm EDT. For the rest of you, watch the live stream of the launch.

Sounding rockets, or suborbital rockets, are valuable tools for testing flight technologies. Approximately six minutes after launch, the rocket will release four sub-payloads containing barium and strontium that will form blue-green and red vapor clouds.
