Shush!

The Centre for Nanoscience and Quantum Information located at the University at Bristol in the UK, is officially the quietest building in world.

James Dacey from Physics world, went to visit the University of Bristol to find out how they keep these laboratories inside the University so quiet. The interesting tour takes you through a collection of laboratories that offer some of the lowest vibration and acoustic noise levels found in any research centre in world.

The use of these quiet laboratories is vital in research conducted at the University of Bristol. Delicate studies in the field of nanoscience and quantum information are currently taking place, where any disturbance from surroundings, like noise or vibrations, could alter the experimental data that is being recorded in these studies.
