Can you tell what these astonishingly realistic animals are painted on? Artist Guido Daniele puts a new twist on hand-painting.

Guido Daniele uses a unique canvas for his hyper-realistic paintings: human skin. He uses his body-painting skills to illustrate a variety of subjects, but his "handimal" series is particularly stunning. He typically uses his children's hands as canvases to capture these breathtaking likenesses of animals. Each painting takes about four to five hours to complete. The expressive hand gestures combined with the exquisite detail of his renderings truly breathe life into these animal portraits. Daniele intends for his series to remind people about our deep connection with the planet and spread awareness of the dangers facing biodiversity. You can see more of his artwork at Guido Daniele's website.
