Every year, highlining athletes flock to Monte Piana in the Italian Dolomites to string up highlines and hammocks between the peaks, hundreds of meters above the ground.

The Highline Meeting Monte Piana attracts adventurers from all over the world who seek out the thrilling experience of walking across a precipitous gorge in the Italian Dolomites. At night, the mountain turns into a riot of colorful hammocks where participants can enjoy the exhilarating alpine view and swing in the breeze. This year's event commemorated the 100th anniversary of the conflicts that took place here during World War I. Co-founders Alessandro d’Emilia and Armin Holzer wanted to replace those memories of violence with a tranquil aura that matches the site's stunning beauty. As they explain in the video, "Our idea was to re-experience Monte Piana in friendship and peace with each other, accompanied by kindhearted feelings during the day, and lulled to sleep at night by magical silence."
